Generally if components on the motherboard have failed, we will suggest a new computer as replacing most manufacturers’ motherboards is difficult. Parts availability is the main issue. Most major manufacturer will not stock parts much beyond the original production run. Replacing with a standard part is a possibility; however this procedure will usually require a complete reformat/reload of Windows. This is due to the Windows registry system that sees a new motherboard as a different computer than was originally registered with Microsoft.
If components on an adaptor have failed we will suggest replacement of the part. Adaptors are interchangeable and do not effect the original Windows registration.
We will dust out and clean all fan systems in your computer. Fans tend to collect dust that will slow the fan or interrupt the air flow. No air flow results in overheating, that results in motherboard failure.
We remove packing tapes, advertising and sales material from the outside of your computer and wipe down the exterior surfaces with Windex or 409. Some plastic surfaces also enjoy a Armor-All treatment.
